Introduction: adolescence is the phase of doubts and discoveries in relation to their sexuality,
including reproductive decision making. Therefore, contraception in adolescents is one of the
fundamental pillars to prevent the consequences of unprotected sexual activity, so it is necessary
to know their knowledge, attitudes and practices against the use of contraceptive methods.
Methods: descriptive design with 874 students aged 14 to 19 enrolled in public secondary
education institutions, daytime mode belonging to the Local Education Unit 1 of the municipality
of Villavicencio, who were given a questionnaire.
