Abstract |
This study evaluates the progress of opportunities for early childhood development (ECD) across Palestinian governorates under the Israeli occupation, from 1995 to 2014. Five statewide-representative partially harmonized demographic surveys – for years 1995, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014 – are used. 15 indicators of early childhood opportunities, measures of school attendance and literacy, and selected household resources important to child-rearing – including toilet, refrigerator, car, computer, and an index of overall wealth – are evaluated. Results are compared to 15 surveys from 11 other Arab-region countries. |
