Abstract | Background: Infectious diseases are the first leading cause of death in the low income countries, less than one in five of all people reach the age of 70, and more than a third of all deaths are among children under 15. Measles is one of infectious diseases which is highly contagious and remain one of the leading causes of death among young children. In 2015, there were 134,200 measles deaths globally. In Afghanistan, measles remain the 1st leading cause of outbreaks; there were 26,642 cases and 106 deaths in 2015. Objective: To present measles epidemiology and trend in Afghanistan. |
