The concept of education and research needs on ecohydrology in Indonesia is considered on the basis of the need for alternative solutions to the ecohydrological problems facing Indonesia today. This paper tries to describe the root causes of ecohydrological problems in Indonesia with the situation of land and forest degradation, and deterioration of water resources as serious issues of water resources management and environmental hazards. Population pressure on land resources has created pockets of poverty in many regions that form a vicious circle of poverty. Ecohydrological research needs to address these issues are discussed in the perspective of developing human resource capacity needed to formulate the concept of post-graduate on ecohydrology consistent with post-graduate education framework that has developed in Indonesia. It is recognized that the concept of post-graduate education on ecohydrology required in the context of Indonesia simply by introducing the subject of science on ecohydrology which contains basic concepts and principles ecohydrology in the field of postgraduate education program of natural resource management and environment, and with some training in the form of 'research training workshops’ for students who are interested in researching aspects of ecohydrology.
