Abstract
This paper examines the effects of the intrahousehold distribution of income on children's anthropometric status in the Cote d'Ivoire. We find that increases in the proportion of cash income accruing to women increases boys' height-for-age relative to girls, and that this effect is statistically significant. We suggest that this result may reflect efficiency and equity concerns which, in this case, reinforce each other.
