Abstract
This document reports the results of the Fifth Survey on Mortality, Morbidity and Use of Services (EMMUS-V) conducted in Haiti in 2012. EMMUS-V investigates the socio-economic characteristics and health and social indicators of the Haitian population, which are used to assess national progress. The document is divided into the following chapters: characteristics of the country and presentation of the investigation; characteristics of housing and population of households; characteristics of women and men respondents; marriage and exposure to pregnancy; fecundity; preferences in fertility; family planning; abortion; reproductive health; child health; state nutrition, food and breastfeeding practices; malaria; child mortality; knowledge, attitudes and behaviour towards HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases; HIV prevalence and associated factors; status of women; domestic violence; situation of children; and, earthquakes, hunger and cholera.
