Abstract
One of the objectives of the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey (PDHS) was to provide information relating to the health of children and their mothers, both of which have a crucial influence on population growth and perceptions moderating fertility behaviour. High levels of infant, child, and maternal mortality in Pakistan have drawn the attention of the government, resulting in efforts to improve survival through primary health care. The PDHS, for the first time, provides information on coverage of these services. In this chapter, an analysis is undenakenof data obtained through detailed questions about anlenatal and delivery care, immunisation coverage, and treabnent of diarrhoea, fever, and acute respiratory diseases in children
