Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
This is the first survey of its kind conducted in Tanzania using Point Sample Area Frame Methodology, therefore it limits the comparisons with the previous agriculture censuses and surveys data due to the different methodologies applied. The survey collected detailed information on area and production for major crops, potentially livestock and fish farming.

A well-structured questionnaire was used. It covered both large scale and household farming in detail. The following topics were covered; farm ownership, land tenure, crop production, crop prices, livestock population and fish production.
The first check of the questionnaire was done by enumerators in the field, while the second check was done by enumerator team supervisors, followed by regional and national supervisors during the supervision period. Supervisory visits at all levels of supervision, focused on consistency checks of the questionnaires. Inconsistencies encountered were corrected, and where necessary, a return visit to the respondent was made by the enumerator to correct the information.
All data were entered manually using Census and Survey Processing System (CSPro) by staff hired specifically for editing and data entry. Prior to data entry, all questionnaires were cleaned manually to maintain the quality of the data. This involved checking to see if the questionnaire was complete, and if it had correct identification and correctly filled out information.
