First 126 bytes are data, and remaining 16 bytes are weights. (2) The Layout of data is given in the EXCEL-file layout.xls. The layout for multiplier file is laymult.doc (3) The data is organised in various levels having different data formats. Information regarding which block of the Schedule has been put into which level, is given in the file layout.xls. (4) For generating any estimate, one has to extract relevant portion of the data, and aggregate after applying the weights. (5) Weights (or multipliers) are given at the end of each record from 127th byte onwards, as given below. All records of a household will have same weight figures. "Combined schedule-type" weights -------------------------------- NSS = Bytes 127-129 (3 bytes) NSC = Bytes 130-132 (3 bytes) MLT = Bytes 133-142 (10 bytes) Apply weight (or multipliers) as follows : weight = MLT/200, if NSC > NSS. = MLT/100, otherwise. (6) Common Primary Key for identification of a record for any record is FSU Sl. No. = 4(5) (i.e. offset=4th byte, length=5 bytes ) Hamlet Group = 30(1) 2nd State Stratum = 31(1) Household Srl. No.= 32(2) Level No. = 34(2) Item/Person Sl.No.= 36(5) In case of those Blocks/Levels, where Item/Person Sl.No. is not applicable the field is filled up with 00000. (7) In the value fields (Rs. or Quantity or Area etc.) only the numeric figure is given in datafile. The decimal point is to be assumed after looking at the type of that field in the printed schedule. ---------------------------------------------------------------- List of Documents ----------------- General Information -- README.TXT Text Data Layout ----------------------------------------------------- LAYout XLS 484,864 12-06-05 12:48a layout.xls Multiplier file layout --------------------------------------------------------- LAYMULT DOC 112,640 01-01-00 5:01a laymult.doc Instruction to Field Staff ------------------------------------------------------------ 60INS_~1 DOC 290,304 10-16-03 3:57p 60ins_chap2f.doc 60INS_~2 DOC 399,872 10-16-03 5:31p 60ins_chap1f.doc 60INS_~3 DOC 322,048 10-16-03 4:09p 60ins_250_chap5f.doc 60INS_~4 DOC 500,736 10-30-03 3:41p 60ins_chap4f.doc 60INS1~1 DOC 281,088 10-17-03 10:44a 60ins1_0-chap3f.doc Printed Schedule -------------------------------------------------------------- SCH10T~1 DOC 1,039,872 10-16-03 11:39a sch 1.0 type 2.doc SCH10T~2 DOC 1,043,456 10-16-03 11:36a sch 1.0 type 1.doc SCH00~1 DOC 814,592 10-14-03 5:27p sch 0.0.doc SCH10~1 DOC 713,216 10-15-03 2:53p sch 10.doc SCH250~1 DOC 288,256 10-15-03 12:09p sch 25.0.doc -------------------------------------------------------------- Note : (1) f.s.u. serial numbers in records are assigned false numbers to disable identity of units; (2) files are in ASCII format and they are flat / line sequential.
