Abstract
This paper uses data from the Bulgarian Integrated Household Surveys, and the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) to examine the multiple aspects of vulnerability in the labor market in Bulgaria, in the late 1990s. The paper starts by examining the links between poverty, and labor market outcomes, drawing a particular attention to the heterogeneity of jobs, and the multiple aspects of poverty. It then identifies those groupsart risk of one, or more poor labor market outcomes, revealing the existence of particularly vulnerable groups, who cumulate a high risk of being unemployed, of remaining longer in unemployment, and if employed, of being low-paid, and working under precarious conditions.
