The present research analyses the situation of the underemployment in the district of Mira,
province of Carchi, taking in consideration its incidence on the productive and social
activities of its habitants. The underemployment, like the employment can be categorize
as an activity to obtain resources and satisfy the needs of the citizens, nonetheless, the
underemployment is a term that today does not get the importance that requires and it is
primordial to make an analysis of it, because a great number of persons are in this
situation. This analysis is based on a direct study applied to the persons through a survey
with direct and clear questions that will allow knowing the level of underemployment, its
causes, effects and the determination of the branches of the activities undertaken by the
habitants that are considered, this determined the different branches of the activities in
the district of Mira, Where the research will be developed
