Abstract
A cross-sectional survey-based for maternal, newborn and child mortality
was performed for all 233 communes, and then identified eligible
communes for both completeness and accuracy in the Hanoi city. Mortality
rates were 1.29 per 1,000 live births for newborn and 4.38 per 100,000
live births during 2005-2010 for maternal mortality, U3MR 0.67 per 1,000
live births; and U5MR 0.44 per 1,000 live births. Rural districts had significantly
increased risk of newborn and infant mortality. A decreased
time trend of newborn and infant mortality has been detected between
2005-2006 and 2009-2010 in Hanoi city
