Agricultural Survey [ag/oth]
The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality). The FAO launched a household survey in Honduras through the Data in Emergencies Monitoring (DIEM-Monitoring) System to monitor agricultural livelihoods and food security.The data collection was conducted under the coordination of the Government with technical assistance from FAO, the World Food Programme, Action Against Hunger, Caritas, the Agencia Adventista para el Desarrollo y Recursos Asistenciales, Prawanka and Panapana, World Vision,and with the support of municipal governments and local non-governmental organizations This first-round survey reached 4649 households through face-to-face interviews conducted from 15 November to 27 December 2022. Households were surveyed across 18 departments of the country, and the two biggest cities of the country, Central District and San Pedro Sula. Data collection took place during the post-harvest period. The sample design considered a margin of error of 10 percent and a reliability of 90 percent. INCOME SOURCES, SHOCKS: income changes, shocks experienced by households.
CROP PRODUCTION: crops planted, area planted, area harvested, crop production difficulties.
CROP MARKETING: crop sale difficulties, crop sale price.
LIVESTOCK PRODUCTION: types of livestock present on holding, number of livestock, livestock production difficulties.
LIVESTOCK MARKETING: livestock sale, livestock sale difficulties, livestock sale price.
FISHERIES PRODUCTION: fish activity, comparison of fish production.
FISHERIES MARKETING: fish sale, fish sale difficulties, fish sale price.
FOOD SECURITY AND CONSUMPTION: food consumption, food utilization, comping strategies.
NEEDS ASSISTANCE: open questions on the needs for assistance.

Sampling
A total of 4649 households were surveyed through face-to-face interviews. Households were surveyed across 18 departments of the country, and the two biggest cities of the country, Central District and San Pedro Sula. Data collection took place during the post-harvest period. The sample design considered a margin of error of 10 percent and a reliability of 90 percent.
Regional weights are calculated to correct disproportionate sampling at the department level.
Survey instrument
The dataset was anonymized using Statistical Disclosure methods by the Data in Emergencies Hub team and reviewed by the Office of Chief Statistician at FAO. All direct identifiers have been removed prior to data submission.
In addition, recoding and local suppressions were applied to ensure data confidentiality. Recoding was especially applied to the education, water source, source of light and toilet type variables.

Data processing
The datasets have been edited and processed for analysis by the DIEM team at the Office of Emergencies and Resilience, FAO, with some dashboards and visualizations produced. For more information, see https://data-in-emergencies.fao.org/pages/countries.

Micro datasets disseminated by FAO shall only be allowed for research and statistical purposes. Any user which requests access working for a commercial company will not be granted access to any micro dataset regardless of their specified purpose. - The micro dataset will only be used for statistical and/or research purposes;
- Any results derived from the micro dataset will be used solely for reporting aggregated information, and not for any specific individual entities or data subjects;
- The users shall not take any action with the purpose of identifying any individual entity (i.e. person, household, enterprise, etc.) in the micro dataset(s). If such a disclosure is made inadvertently, no use will be made of the information, and it will be reported immediately to FAO;
- The micro dataset cannot be re-disseminated by users or shared with anyone other than the individuals that are granted access to the micro dataset by FAO.
