Description

Definition
This variable is derived from the occupational string, and is set in the coding dictionary. It is set at either 0 or 1. 1 denotes retired; 0 denotes no indication. Thus for those people whose occupation is either missing or is a relationship-type occupation, e.g., Butcher's wife, the retired variable will automatically be set to 0.This is not an indication of whether someone has left the labour market.
