<p>The questions included in this part of the form should be investigated for each of the households that are residing in the dwelling at the time of the Census.</p>
<p>The following specific instructions will allow the enumerator to carry out the work more efficiently.</p>

How to formulate the question<br /><br />Under what tenancy condition does the household occupy the dwelling?<br /><br /><span class="pg">[p. 48]</span><br /><br />The following definitions will allow the enumerator to correctly investigate this question:<br /><br /><span class="em">Completely paid for</span>: The dwelling occupied by the household in which one of the members has acquired the right to the real estate property via purchase, with cash, credit, or through inheritance etc. This is the case only if it has been completely paid for by the time of the census.<br /><br /><span class="em">Paying in installments</span>: The dwelling occupied by the household in which one of the members has acquired the right to the real estate property through a credit purchase. A mortgage is still held at the time of the Census.<br /><br /><span class="em">Rented</span>: The dwelling occupied by the household that pays the owner or subtenant an amount of money or its equivalent in-kind or in services.<br /><br /><span class="em">Loaned</span>: The dwelling occupied by the household, with the express permission of the owner, for which no rent is paid.<br /><br /><span class="em">Other</span>: Any other form of tenure that cannot be classified into the above categories.<br /><br />2. How to record the data<br /><br />Once the type of tenure has been identified, the enumerator will circle the number corresponding to the answer given.<br /><br />When the dwelling is being paid for or is being rented, the amount of the monthly mortgage (in payment) or rent (rented) payment in <span class="lang">Quetzales</span> [Guatemalan currency] is requested and recorded.<br /><br />3.
