Instructions:

- Meaning of the concept of having worked at some point in their life. In the case of homemakers and the elderly, explain that it does not matter how much time has passed or the position of the job they performed when working (salaried, self-employed or unpaid worker), say that you are only interested in knowing if they went to work when they were children or young people or when they were single.
- Multiple responses. Don't forget that this question admits more than one response, as you may find that a person could have started their working life as an unpaid worker, then salaried and later self-employed or any combination of these work experiences.
- Circle the option(s) indicated.
- Sequence to follow. If you circle option 1, 2 or 3, go to question 9a; if you circle option 4 or 9, go to question 10.
