<br />The purpose of this battery of questions is to characterize the employed population, based on their work schedule, their perception of the time worked and the regularity with which they work in their main job.</p>

<br />This question is asked to employed persons to learn the work schedule they have at their main job.</p>

<p><span class="em">Work schedule. </span>The time during which the subordinate worker is available to their employer to perform the work for which their services were hired or the time the independent worker decides to dedicate to their business or company.</p>

<br />This question is asked to employed persons who worked in the reference week on a different schedule than normal, to find out the main reason for this change.</p>

<div class="i1">- If the informant's response mentions more than one option, insist that they tell you the main reason.<br /><br /><span class="ital">01 Too much work</span></div><div class="i2">- Independent or subordinate workers who were required to work more time than usual due to an overload of work or clients.<br /><br />In the case of subordinate workers, it should not imply they received extra remuneration for the additional time worked; otherwise, circle option 02, 03 or 04, as applicable.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">02 To earn more income</span></div><div class="i2">- Independent workers who worked more hours to earn a higher income than they normally receive; for example, the grocer who was one extra hour with the idea of earning more income.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">02. To earn more income </span></div><div class="i2">- Subordinate workers. In this case, the chance of obtaining more income in exchange for a greater number of hours is sustained in a verbal agreement with the employer and not in a labor contract that guarantees payment for the hours worked outside of habitual hours.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">03. Overtime</span></div><div class="i2">- Subordinate workers who work more than their normal hours because they have worked overtime.<br /><br />Overtime. Time worked after the established work schedule, pending an agreement between the employee and the employer, through which an additional payment is received.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">04. High season (clients, sales, planting or harvest) </span></div><div class="i2">- Those who have spent more time than usual at their job because they work in cyclical activities, which due to their nature require greater attention.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">05. Reduction or suspension of work (lack of sales or clients, low season, technical stoppage)</span></div><div class="i2">- Workers who worked fewer hours than usual due to a crisis in the economic unit where they work, work suspension, technical stoppage, lack of raw materials, lack of clients, machinery breakdown or accidents.<br />- Farm workers when it is not planting or harvest season.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">06. Contract terminated or work season ended</span></div><div class="i2">- Those who work fewer hours than normal because their labor contract or agreement terminated during the reference week.<br />- People who worked fewer hours because the work season ended, for example, shrimping season, fairs or local events, summer courses.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">07. Weather causes</span></div><div class="i2">- Those who reduced their work schedule because the weather prevented them from doing it normally. This situation is common in agriculture, fishing and construction, although it may also occur in some trades such as carpenters, house painters, street vendors.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">08. Vacations or holidays</span></div><div class="i2">- People who have worked fewer ours than normal because during the reference period they celebrated civic or religious festivals or there was a recess or vacation period.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">09. Illness or accident </span></div><div class="i2">- Workers who work fewer hours than normal because they were recovering from some illness or suffered an accident.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">10. Caring for or attending to children, the sick or elderly</span></div><div class="i2">- Those who worked fewer hours than normal because they were caring for children, the sick or people with some disability, etc.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">11. Other personal or family reasons </span></div><div class="i2">- People whose reasons are different than those stated in the preceding options, but of a personal or family nature, for example, advanced age, completion of process to enroll in school.</div><div class="i1"><span class="ital">12. None of the above </span></div><div class="i2">- Those who have reasons other than those mentioned in the preceding options, for example, people who started working during the reference week.<br />- Those who, during this period, worked more or fewer hours because their work shift changed or they filled in for other workers.<br />- Sequence to follow.
