Data Collection Notes
Trained interviewers applied the Multiple-Pass Method to collect two non-consecutive 24-hour recall. The 24-hour recall interviews collected data on the name, preparation method, quantity of foods and beverages consumed, as well as the time and location of consumption. Interviewers also asked follow-up questions regarding the addition of ingredients such as olive oil, butter, margarine, sugar, sweetener, honey, molasses, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, soy sauce, grated cheese, and cream to the reported foods. Methods of quantification included household measurements, standard units and standard portions.
