<svar a="all" v="ID90A407"><span class="em">Question 5: Marital status</span><br /><div class="i1"><span class="em">Married</span> is the status of those bonded in marriage during enumeration, either living together or separated. In this matter not only those who are legally wed (custom, religion, state, etc.) but also those who are living together and are considered to be husband and wife by the community.<br /><span class="em">Divorced</span> is the separation of husband from wife due to divorce, but the respondent has not remarried. Included in this category are those who admit to being divorced although legally they are not. On the contrary, those who temporarily live separately are not considered divorced; for example, a husband/wife that leaves their spouse to [go to] another place due to studying, working, seeking a job, or the husband/wife is in a fight.<br /><span class="em">Widowed</span> is the status of those whose husband/wife died and have not remarried.</div><br />Circle one of the appropriate codes for the respondent's marital status.<br /></svar>
