Do you know how to read and write?</span><br /><br />The enumerator will ask this question of all people who are 6 or older, marking circle 7 with an X when they say YES, and circle 8 if they neither read nor write.<br /><br />If the person being enumerated only knows how to sign their name, only recognizes or writes the letters of the alphabet and isn't able to read or write a letter or a basic document, mark No.<br /></svar></p>

Do you or did you attend any regular instructional center?</span><br /><br />This question refers to attendance of regular instructional establishments and not to quick courses like: beauty schools, special cooking courses, shorthand, typing, and languages.<br /><br />Take into account that the attendance can be for Institutions within the country or outside of it (people who studied outside the country and are now in the country).<br /><br /><span class="em">Note:</span> If the person never attended school, it is not necessary to ask questions 12, 13, and 14.<br /></svar>
