<svar a="all" v="BR91A417"><span class="h3">Question 9 - Ethnic group or color</span><br />The Box corresponding to the respondent's declaration should be marked, with no interpretation by the Enumerator, considering, however, that yellow only applies to persons of Oriental origin and their descendants. Do not consider as yellow any <span class="pg">[p. 60]</span> person who has yellowish skin due to some disease, such as malaria, hookworm disease, etc.).<br />The term Indigenous applies not only to those who live in native villages or reservations, but also to their descendants who live outside such places.<br />The Box - Brown (<span class="lang">Parda</span>) - will be marked only for declarations different from white, black, yellow or indigenous, such as mulatto [mixed black and white], mixed white and Indian (<span class="lang">cabocla</span>), mixed black and Indian (<span class="lang">cafuza</span>), mixed white and Indian (<span class="lang">mameluca</span>), etc.<br /></svar>
