At this stage, you should know the main economic or income earning activities of the household. If the household relies in money from other family members or friends, mark box 7. You can check the response with P26.
Do not read out the response category “None” - it is extremely rare for a household not to have any form of income.
Households which say that they have no income probably rely on remittances from other family members for any cash payments (or goods in kind).
The main purpose of this question is to get information on the main income sources of the household which might or might not come from their labour force activities. It is specifically trying to identify those households which operate businesses or have other regular income from investments and business, commonly called the 'informal sector'. So if the household owns a business that contributes to the main source of income for the household, please specify the nature or name of business, eg kava bar, taxi, bus, other transport, bakery, fishing, small store and so on.
