Socio-Economic/Monitoring Survey [hh/sems]
Since 1992, BPS through Susenas collecting core data and the module data every year. Susenas modules is divided into three major groups, that is module socio-cultural and educational, modules housing and health, module household consumption and household expenditure, implementation of each module is every three years.
Susenas is a survey designed to collect socio-demographic data in large area. The data collected were related to the fields of education, health / nutrition, housing / environmental, socio-cultural activities, consumption and household income, trips, and public opinion about the welfare of household. In 1992, Susenas data collection system has been updated, the information used to develop indicators of welfare (Welfare) contained in the module (information collected once every three years) drawn into the core (group information is collected each year).
Information in the existing module collected over a period of three years. The modules are grouped into 3 packets, as follows: (1) Module consumption / Expenditure and Household Income, (2) Socio-Cultural and Educational Modules, and (3) Module of Health and Housing. In year 2006, according to its rotation Susenas module is the module on socio-cultural and education.
In recent years, the implementation Susenas (Kor or module) also contain questions related to the evaluation of short-term programs within the framework of the distribution of subsidized fuel oil (fuel subsidy) to the poor. For example, BLT / SLT, Askeskin, cheap rice for the poor (Raskin), business loans, Education Aid To School (BOS) and Students (BKM).
Starting in 2005, the implementation of Susenas shifted in January-February to the month of June-July. This was done to anticipate the effect of the rainy season in January-February and disbursement of state funds that normally occurs in April. In 2006 the implementation of Susenas postponed to July-August. This is because at the same relative time, BPS organizing large events Economic Census.

Scope
- Data collected by core questionnaire (VSEN2006.K) includes:
a. General Information of household members (art) that includes name, relationship to head of household, sex, age, marital status.
b. Information about mother deaths during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
c. Information about the state of health include the health of the population, the costs incurred for the purposes of health household.
d. Information household member education 5 years and above.
e. Information of economic activity and employment household member 10 years and above.
f. Fertility information for women never married and how to prevent pregnancy for married women.
g. Housing information include the mastery of residence, the physical condition of residential buildings, residential buildings and facilities.
h. Information of the average households consumption and the main source of household income.
i. Information of others socio-economic , include facilites use of community development projects (Raskin, health cards and the like), the utilization of credit facilities and overseas labor issues.
- Module data collected includes:
a. Information about the quantity and value of consumption of food, beverages, and tobacco both purchase and own production or delivery. Consumption of food, beverages, and tobacco covers 215 commodities are divided into 14 groups.
b. Information about household expenditure on non-food items, including housing and households facilities, miscellaneous goods and services, clothing, footwear, and headgear, durable goods, taxes, fees, and insurance, as well as expenditures for purposes of party and ceremonies. Non-food consumption includes details of 108 divided into 6 groups.
c. Information about income, revenues, and expenditures not consumption, includes income from wages or salaries, income from business, income is not the ownership of the business, and receipts or income, expenditure transfers and financial transactions.

National coverage, representative to the district level
Implementation of the 2006 Susenas includes 278,352 households spread across geographic regions of Indonesia, with details of 68,800 sample households core-module and 209 552 households sample core (without module). Data from the sample core can presented at the national, provincial, and district / city.

Sampling
The design of Sampling
- Core Susenas
Design of 2006 Susenas sampling is a two-phase sampling design. Sampling for urban area and rural area is to be conducted separately. Procedure of 2006 Susenas sampling for a district/city is as follows:
• Phase 1, from sampling frame block census elected block census nh (h = 1, for urban, h = 2, for rural areas) by PPS - systematically whereas size is the number of households from P4B enumeration result (April 2003). Household listing is conducted to all selected census blocks/sub-blocks.
• Phase 2, from every selected census blocks/sub-blocks, then, to be selected m = 16 households from the listing result systematically. For census block that has contents of more than 150 households, selection of one census sub-block in PPS-systematic is required with the size of household number of P4B census result.
- Panel Survey Module Consumption / Expenditure and Household Income
In addition to design of the sample selection core, module of socio-culture and education above, in 2006 Susenas also designed methods for the implementation of the survey panel module consumption / expenditure and income households, where both the sample and the block census is a panel sample of households (repetition) Susenas 2005 (implementation in February 2005). In 2006, panel Susenas 2006 has been carried out in February 2006. Panel surveys conducted up to the household level and building census, meaning that if the panel households Susenas 2005 (the implementation in February 2005) can be found on the panel Susenas 2006 (the implementation of February 2006) then the household it should enumerated, and if the selected households cannot be found then enumerated households are households living in buildings selected census.
