Description

Definition
This variable records the person's primary occupation during the reference period: January 1st to August 7th, 1960. The groupings roughly conform to the first version of the International Standard Classification of Occupations, ISCO-58. For persons with two or more occupations at the time of enumeration, the occupation that the person considered to be the most important or that which earned more income was recorded. For persons who were not working at the time of enumeration but who did work during the reference period, the last occupation was recorded.
