<p><svar a="all" v="GR71A048">58. <span class="em">Question 6, Water supply</span><br /><br />[Omitted, question 6 is repeated]<br /><br />The question refers to the household's drinking water, regardless of its quality.<br /><br /><span class="pg">[p. 25]</span><br /><br />Record <span class="em">one, and only one, answer, even if the respondents declare that "they do not have drinking water."</span>.<br /><br />The hydraulic installation (pipes and tap) must be permanent and connected to a water supply network.<br /><br />A public water supply network is inspected and controlled by a department of public services.<br /><br />Any other (non-public) water supply network should be classified as private.<br /><br />The drinking water supply is considered to be inside the dwelling when the tap is in an interior space (e.g., in the kitchen, in another room, in a corridor, etc.) of the dwelling, not in communal space or open space in the building or in the courtyard or inside another housing unit in the building.<br /><br />If the tap is outside the dwelling but inside the building (i.e., in communal space, in the courtyard, or on the building site), select response 3 or 4.<br /><br />Select response 5 if the tap is on the pavement, in a public square, or otherwise away from the building.<br /><br />Response 5 includes any other means of supplying water, such as.:<br /><div class="i1">a) <span class="em">Well or spring</span>, regardless of whether the household owns it;<br />b) <span class="em">River, rivulet or lake</span>, without a network;<br />c) <span class="em">Cistern</span>, collecting rainfall;<br />d) <span class="em">Cask</span>, regardless of the original water source, etc.</div><br /></svar>
