Interviewer instructions
Instructions for recording responses to questions 14-19 in a census questionnaire

Questions 14-19 in the form 2C are filled only for respondents who are permanently resident in the dwelling (including temporarily absent). For persons who live in this dwelling temporarily, i.e. for those to whom in the form 1 "temporarily living in the dwelling" is marked, responses to questions 14-19 in the form 2C are not filled.

Question 17 -Your status in employment (your occupation?)

A mark that corresponds to the one of the mentioned variant of response is written down.
The status of persons in employment is defined by the place of work and occupation that is the answer to the questions 14 and 15 in the form 2C.

Employed is marked to persons who work under employment agreement, contract or oral arrangement with management of enterprise, organization, institution of any form of ownership or with individual and obtain a reward in the form of remuneration of labour (money or in kind).

[p.33]

This mark is also written down to persons who are selected to elective position; members of the family who work at family enterprise with remuneration of labour on the usual terms; employed in the field of religious faiths.

Member of collective enterprise, cooperative is marked to persons who own the part of property of the enterprise (cooperative) that produces goods or provides services they work at. Thus each member of the owners group has equal rights with other members concerning production process management, sales of products, investment, profit distribution and so on.

Employer is marked to persons who run their own business or are engaged in professional or commercial activity on an independent basis and employ one or more workers to do this work.

Self-employed is marked to persons who run their own business or engaged in professional or commercial activity on an independent individual basis and do not employ workers to do this work.

Family member who works without payment is marked to persons who work without fixed payment and legal arrangements of labor relations at family enterprise headed by one of the household's member and income from which is shared by all members of household.
