Corresponde a la división en rangos de personal afiliado emitida por la Comunidad Andina de Naciones (CAN) que permite tener un panorama del tamaño de las empresas. Los estratos en el año 2013 son los siguientes:

Estratos Número de personas ocupadas
Estrato I Entre 1 - 9
Estrato II Entre 10 - 49
Estrato III Entre 50 - 99
Estrato IV Entre 100 - 199
Estrato V >= 200

Nota: La Comunidad Andina de Naciones define los estratos del I al IV, el INEC incorpora el estrato V.
