<p>This variable allows a classification of the population with relation to economic activity, establishing the groups of active and inactive and their main collectives. It is a variable of basic classification in the census operation.</p>
<p>The temporary reference of this variable is the week previous to the census reference.
<br />It is asked of all those people that are 16 years of age or older.</p>
