Marital status<br />This question should be asked only of persons who are 12 years old and more, and in the order indicated on the form, until you obtain an affirmative answer.<br /><br />Ask first: are you "married or in a union" and mark the corresponding box.<br />* Married: when the person has entered in a civil or religious marriage and currently lives in this status. We are not interested if one of the spouses if temporarily absent for reasons of work, study, or others, as long as it is not because of definitive separation.<br /><br />* Union: when the person lives in a free or de facto union without being married by civil or religious manner. Be aware that many of those who live in this condition try to hide it, the men declare that they are simply single and women married.
