Interviewer instructions

1. Tubería dentro de la vivienda: el agua llega dentro de la vivienda por medio de al menos un tubo o llave, es decir, no es necesario salir de ésta, para abastecerse de agua.
2. Tubería fuera de la vivienda pero dentro del lote o edifi cio: el agua llega por cañería dentro del lote, propiedad o edifi cio pero no dentro de la vivienda. Debe ser acarreada desde el tubo o llave hasta el interior de la vivienda.
3. Tubería fuera del lote o edifi cio: el agua llega a un tubo o llave pública que se ubica fuera del lote, propiedad o edificio.
4. No tiene agua por tubería: la vivienda se abastece por otros medios (acarreo de un pozo, río, lluvia, etc.).

Definition

Esta variable registra el tipo de abastecimiento de agua que poseen las viviendas individuales seleccionadas en la muestra, evaluando el acceso de los hogares costarricenses a un servicio básico, que es el agua potable. En este punto es importante evaluar no sólo si hay servicio de agua sino el tipo de acceso (por cañería dentro o fuera del lote, o si el acceso esta fuera del lote)
