Description

Definition
For children with a fever or cough in the past 2 weeks, FEVTRBD14 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child received treatment from a government hospital. This response category is country-specific to Bangladesh.

Some samples in the "FEVTR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

FEVTRBD14 is combined with FEVTRBD15 (public district hospital) and FEVTRBD16 (specialized government hospital) in FEVTRPUBHOS (all public hospitals) for the 2011 Bangladesh sample. Additionally, FEVTRBD14 is combined with FEVTRBD15 for the 2014 Bangladesh sample.

IPUMS-DHS users interested in using FEVTRBD14 are encouraged to review FEVTRPUBHOS for a more comprehensive response category.
