Definition
ATET1 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, the woman reported a non-governmental organization (NGO) health facility as a place to be tested for the AIDS virus. This response category is country-specific to Ethiopia.

Some samples in the "AT" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ATET1 is combined with ATET2 (NGO VCT center) in ATNGO (all NGOs) for the 2005 Ethiopia sample. Additionally, ATET1 is combined with ATET2, ATET3 (NGO mobile clinic), and ATET4 (Other NGO) in ATNGO for Ethiopia 2011. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ATET1 are encouraged to review ATNGO for a more comprehensive response category.
