Definition
Like MAR1STCMCMN (MV509), MAR1STCMCMN_ET (MV509_ET) reports the century month code (CMC) for the date of the man's first marriage or cohabitation. However, this variable is country-specific to Ethiopia, as the data are recorded using the Ethiopian calendar. For most other countries, the CMC data for the date of the man's first marriage/cohabitation are recorded using the Gregorian calendar. On average, there is a seven to eight year gap between the Ethiopian calendar and the Gregorian calendar.
