Description

Definition
CHHEDKIDLINENO reports the household line number of the child who was selected for the child education module.

If the household member was the child selected, CHHEDKIDLINENO will be the household member's own line number. Users wishing to limit other variables in the child labor module to include only the selected children, rather than all members of the household, should exclude cases where CHLHHINDEX does not equal the household member's own line number (HHLINENO when using household members as a unit of analysis, or LINENO when using women, children, or births as a unit of analysis).

The information in CHHEDKIDLINENO is taken from the household record and applies to regular household members, not temporary visitors. Researchers may wish to exclude visitors using the RESIDENT variable (with visitors coded "2") when women, children, or births are the unit of analysis, and using the HHRESIDENT variable when household members are the unit of analysis.
