For surviving children under age five who had diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE indicates the type of fluid given to the child to treat the diarrhea.
Unlike most other (dichotomous) variables relating to food and liquid intake during diarrheal disease, DIAGIVFLUIDTYPE includes a list of fluids. If the mother fed the child more than one type of liquid (both pre-prepared ORS and juice, for example), she was to report the main fluid given.
