Description

Definition
For women who gave birth in the last 5 years and who received antenatal care during their most recent pregnancy, ANCZW3_01 indicates whether, in response to an open-ended question, they reported receiving care at a public "district hospital." This response category is country-specific to Zimbabwe.

Some samples in the "ANC" series include categories that can be consolidated into a single response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable while preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

ANCZW3_01 is combined with ANCZW1_01 (public central hospital), ANCZW2_01 (public provincial hospital), and ANCZW4_01 (public rural hospital) in ANCPUBHOS_01 (all public hospitals) for the 2010 and 2015 Zimbabwe samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using ANCZW3_01 are encouraged to review ANCPUBHOS_01 for a more comprehensive response category.
