Definition
NADRAREG indicates whether the household member is registered with NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority), a Pakistan government agency.
Persons registered with NADRA may have been issued a National Identity Card (NIC), with a unique 13-digit identification number. According to the NADRA website, the NIC
is the first requirement of individuals as it is mandatory to obtain documents like license, NTN (National Tax Number), bank account, passport, cellular connection, etc. Every citizen of Pakistan, 18 years and above, is eligible for NIC.
Other responses refer to "name on 'Bay' form," with or without a birth certificate. This probably means the "B-form," an alternative name for the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), which is a document registering people under age 18 with NADRA. Most commonly, a birth certificate is part of the documentation used by parents to secure a CRC for their child. In Pakistan, birth certificates are issued by local jurisdictions, such as hospitals and town offices, not by NADRA.
