Description

Definition
VACHB0MO_AF reports the month that children received birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccination, according to the Solar Hijri calendar. This information is only available for children born in the 5 years before the survey, whose birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccination date was recorded on a card shown to the interviewer. VACHB0MO_AF is only available for the Afghan samples.

The complementary variables VACHB0DAY_AF and VACHB0YR_AF report the day of the month and the year of the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccination according to the Solar Hijri calendar, as recorded on a vaccination card shown to the interviewer.

According to the DHS Recode Manuals, the vaccination date may be coded as "Inconsistent" if the reported date is inconsistent with the date of birth, the date of interview, or the dates of other vaccinations.

To identify all young children who received the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccination, including those identified through the mother's report rather than a dated vaccination card, see VACHB0 (H50).
