Definition
For children with diarrhea in the past 2 weeks, DIATRSN4 indicates, in response to an open-ended question, whether the child was reported to have received treatment from a shop. This response category is country-specific to Senegal.

Some samples in the "DIATR" series include multiple categories that can be consolidated into a single broad response. IPUMS-DHS uses supplemental programming to combine these responses in a standard variable, while also preserving the separate responses in country-specific variables.

DIATRSN4 is combined with DIATRSN5 (market) in DIATRSHOP (all shops/retailers) for the 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 Senegal samples. IPUMS-DHS users interested in using DIATRSN4 are encouraged to review DIATRSHOP for a more comprehensive response category.
