Abstract
Using Vietnamese household living standard survey in 2002 and 2004, this paper examines the effect of human health investment of agricultural households to their productivity. The study reveals that in the context of Vietnamese agricultural development nutritional intakes have contributed substantially and significantly on rural labors’ productivity. Moreover, farmers’ health investment has positive effec ton their output. Particularly, with current technology, using endogenous growth theory as a major workhorse, the paper finds that Vietnamese agricultural households rely much on their vintage knowledge. The policy implication is that more attentiveness should be paid by local and central governments in order to supply a considerable food market and health facilities for poor people.
