The study attempts to understand the key questions pertaining to the role of tribal youth in agriculture development of Tripura. Such questions are: What is the status of tribal youth in the state? And what are the opportunities for development and creation of employment in agriculture? The present study is based on the secondary data. It is true that tribal are more dependent on agriculture and allied activities than any other section of the society in the state. Agriculture sector is seen neglected during the last decade as its total share of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) declines. The tribal youth constitute the largest segment of the tribal population and being the primary productive human resources, the socio-economic development of tribal youth directly linked to the tribal development process. Therefore, tribal youth can play a key role in the agricultural development of the state.
