Abstract
This study seeks to examine the role of region, religion and education on contraceptive use in Ghana. The study also observes how gender affects the relationship between region, religion, education (independent variable) and contraceptive use (dependent variable) in Ghana. This study employs a data with the sample size of 11,888 from the 2008 Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) on Ghana. The dependent variable of the student is contraceptive use and the independent variables of the study are region, religion and education. The paper controls for gender, to determine how gender affects both the dependent and independent variables. The results from the study prove that region, religion and education strongly influence contraceptive use in Ghana. The study also proves gender has a strong influence on contraceptive use in Ghana.
