The Coastal Karnataka that is providing numerous investment opportunities is marked by widespread and formidable protests under the grab of environmentalism. All these protests have created an atmosphere in which many opportunities of investment are halted. The opportunities delayed is opportunity denied! This paper attempts to show how unprecedented investment opportunities in Coastal Karnataka and formidable protests by environmentalists are to be perceived in the context of development of this region.
