An overview of ethno-recreational resources is presented, and a preliminary analysis is made of the potential for ethnographic tourism development in the Baikal region. This study is built upon the contemporary views concerning traditional culture and lifestyle of indigenous peoples living on the region’s territory; the focus is on searching for scientifically grounded approaches to conservation of ethno-cultural diversity under formation conditions for the international recreational space.
