Abstract
In recent years, the Multiple Sclerosis Journal (MSJ) has
played a pivotal role in increasing the awareness of the
epidemiology of multiple sclerosis (MS) across the globe.
As the readership may know, for a decade in Isfahan the
Isfahan Multiple Sclerosis Society (IMSS) has made great
efforts to create a population-based registry, and through
this resource, a series of population-based studies have
reformed knowledge about the epidemiology of MS in
Isfahan.1–4 Despite the classic hypothesis that Iran is a
region of low risk, the most recent report regarded Isfahan
as having one of the highest risks in Asia and Oceania.3 To
follow in the footsteps of our previous work, we provide
here an update on the current situation of MS in Isfahan.
