Abstract
Nowadays governments and local organizations face with the growing urbanization and problems of
economic, social and environmental issues on the one hand and inefficient methods of management and
common urban development control to resolve the problems and bottlenecks mentioned on the other hand. To
successfully managing a city, policies adopted have been based on social sustainable development and be
consistent with harmonious development of civil society. Urban sprawl has prompted designers, urban
planners and experts to further study in various dimensions of urban areas development and analysis of
urban management to provide innovative solutions. The purpose of this study is to assess public awareness of
sustainable urban development indicators. This paper answer to this question that what is there relationship
between awareness of citizenship rights indicators in sustainable urban development and status of citizenship
rights indicators in sustainable urban development?. Research method is survey. 95,000 people have been
selected as the statistical population. According to Cochran method 384 samples is selected from five different
areas in Borazjan City. Research findings, based on citizenship rights indicators include: 1. Awareness of civil
indicator 2. Awareness of political indicator 3. Awareness of social indicator.
