Abstract
The poor air quality situation as well as the
predominant mortality and morbidity rates of
cardiovascular diseases (CVD) have been
problematic to citizens in the Philippines in the
last few decades. The aim of this paper is to
understand the awareness of Filipino
cardiologists with regard to the potential impacts
of air pollution on CVDs. A survey has been
conducted on a sample of 142 Filipino
cardiologists who are members of the Philippines
Heart Association (PHA) as well as a number of
cardiologists from Davao province in the south of
the Philippines, and the paper reports on some of
the salient results obtained.
