THE PROBLEM OF perennial water crisis in Saki and environs
is presented in this paper.
Notwithstanding the recent state of the economy, demand
for water in the cities has continued to rise with
increase in population due to urbanisation and industrialization.

Inventory of the present water supply scheme is taken.
The problems vyith the present supply and distribution
network are identified and ways to improve the supply
capacities are recommended.
Alternative sources of water supply are identified and
evaluated in terms of adequacy and financial viability.
