Abstract | Vegetable waste is a product of human existence. With the present global shift towards green energy production and utilization, there is need for emphasis on the economic; health and environmental benefits of proper harnessing/ utilization of market decomposable waste as a resource that can be utilized in Nigeria towards the achievement of some of her set targets/ goals in the Vision 2020 agenda. This work therefore aims at assessing the method of vegetable waste handling and extent of utilization in urban and rural settlements; its environmental implications and proffer possible panacea for a better environmental quality in Delta State, Nigeria. |
