In this research the quality of life of older adults who belong to the National Program
of Active Ageing (PNEA) in the province of Tungurahua, and its relationship with
personal finance is analyzed; derived from the pension they receive; for this study a
structured 20 questions for a sample of 269 retirees, in which sub variables of quality
of life related to physical, emotional and social wellbeing investigated questionnaire
was used; on the other hand the finances of the elderly was investigated in relation to
his retirement pension and coverage of basic needs; This requires a crossing of
variables, allowing enrich the research results 58.7% have health problems but not
catastrophic diseases, 99.7% feel in harmony with the people around him indicating
their level was conducted satisfaction in the retirement process in 71.9%, 68.4% of
retirees are not satisfied with their pension credit. The elderly have an acceptable
level of quality of life yet to relate finances which are derived from satisfaction and
use of the monthly pension he receives is not acceptable because it does not fully
cover their needs.
